General Meeting March 26, 2012 Mike Rudnick will overview the large body of high-quality science showing that healthy lifestyle can prevent, and often reverse, many of the diseases that plague our society -- cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, stroke, hypertension, atherosclerosis), many cancers, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, and more. It turns out that adopting these healthy-lifestyle factors are also earth friendly and significantly reducing our greenhouse gas production.
We are proud to acknowledge support from The Climate Project.
We will engage 100,000 people (40,000 households) in the Rochester area to reduce their annual carbon footprint by 10,000 pounds per household (a total annual reduction of 400 million pounds - 200,000 tons - of CO2.) Over a three year-period this will reduce the carbon footprint of the Rochester, NY area by over 1 Billion pounds – 500,000 tons – of CO2. This will be 10% reduction of residential CO2 emissions.
